Pinch me, I must be dreaming! I still can not believe I was lucky enough to work on this shoot with the amazing Kina of Kina Wicks Photography, Shannon of Shannon O’Brien Make Up Artist and AJ of Your Stylist AJ! And of course the gorgeous model bringing everything to life, Meredith Gilbertson! Salvage One was the perfect spot for this shoot, its eclectic decor and vintage vibe made for a wonderful backdrop. Creating the florals for this shoot was SO much fun! Kina and I chatted about the location, decor and the dress (provided by Evas Bridal of Oak Lawn) and she left the color choices, types of arrangements and everything else florals, up to me! When someone says those magic words “I trust you”, I tend to go all out. Knowing we wanted a natural and whimsical feel to the florals, I created a bouquet made of poppies, garden roses, sweet peas, jasmine vine, seeded eucalyptus and tulips. It was totally spring inspired and out of control (in a good way), and once I saw Meredith holding it I pretty much squealed! I also had a blast experimenting with the large bar centerpiece made of roses and hydrangea. (We custom built the container for it which really put my wood working skills to the test)! The table centerpiece was a refreshing mixture of greenery and fluffy and romantic flowers. My favorite element was definitely the hyacinth chandelier. I’ve seen huge floral chandeliers before and always thought they were so cool, so for quite a while I’ve been playing around with the idea of doing a chandelier on a more accessible level. Something that could literally hang above your table as a centerpiece if you wanted. Something that smelt heavenly as it swayed back and forth when guests shuffled around the room. Of course now that we’ve created this one, I can’t wait to create another one! I have to say that working with AJ Schulz, Shannon O’Brien and Kina Fink-Wicks was a dream come true, they are such kind, beautiful and incredibly talented professionals and I can not wait to work with them again! Enjoy! XOXO
