Something absolutely magical happens when you combine peonies, sweet peas, ranunculus and hydrangea. Besides the fact that everything smells lovely, these flowers come in the most gorgeous shades of pink, peach, and purple which was perfect for Alicia and Lukas’ Wilder Mansion wedding. The ceremony was held in the Churchill Woods in Glen Ellyn, Il and the reception followed shortly after in Elmhurst. I like to think that Alicia and I became buddies throughout the planning process and when the big day finally came I was almost as excited as she was! Although she did start to cry when she saw her bouquet (good tears of course), so I can’t say she wasn’t enthusiastic! Once all of the set-up was finished at Wilder, I saw the bridal party taking pictures with their photographers Jason and Ela of Studio Finch, and like a true wedding obsessed flower girl-wannabe I snuck right in there and started snapping pictures like a paparazzi! I just couldn’t help myself, Alicia looked so stunning- she truly had that bridal glow! Luckily, Studio Finch saved the day and shared some of the fabulous images they captured so I can spare you from my cell phone shots! One of my favorite elements about planning Alicia’s flowers was that she wanted to draw from all different sorts of inspiration for the bouquets. For her bouquet we used an old photograph of her Grandmother’s bridal bouquet and added elements of Alicia’s soft and natural style to it. The inspiration for the bridesmaids bouquets was the unique color and shape of each dress. We wanted to keep the bouquets a natural shape and overall cohesive, but gave each one a unique pop of color to contrast against each dress. Alicia even thought to add a single daisy to each bouquet in remembrance of Lukas’ sister as it was her favorite flower. I was thrilled with the results and even more importantly, Alicia was too! Thanks again to the wonderful Studio Finch for sharing these images!
